Animated Birthday Cards

One of the nice things about the Internet is the ease with which you can send or make animated birthday cards. If you have never tried making an animated e-card, here is how you do it.

Step 1

Go online and do a search for animated greeting cards. Many sites will let you use or make the animated cards for free, so there’s no need to settle for the pay sites.

Step 2

When you find a site you like, create an account. Enter the required information.

Step 3

If necessary, browse the categories and go to birthday cards. There should be a menu to help you choose. Select customize animation or something similar to it on the toolbar.

Step 4

Upload your picture on the website. Rotate and scale the image. This may be needed so the image can be used with the animation.

Step 5

At this point you can customize the image for use in animation. The options will vary per site. Most of them however, are very intuitive and have many help files available.

Step 6

If you didn’t do any category browsing earlier, choose the “make a card” option now. Choose birthday from the list.

Step 7

At this point you can enter the recipient’s name, the email address and the message.

Step 8

Preview the animation and the message on the card. Make sure the email address you entered is the right one.

Step 9

Decide on the date you want to send the card. If the recipient’s birthday is still days away, you can specify that the card be sent on that date. If you’re ready to send it now, click the send button.

How to Use Other Animated Birthday Cards

There are many kinds of animated cards. Aside from animation, many will allow you to add music and design the card too. Others come with sound effects too. While the features of these cards will vary, almost all of them will have animation previews.

You should use this feature to ensure everything is set up right. Also remember that some sites don’t actually let you modify the animation, but you can still use it.

To use these animated cards, just go to the site and register. You will see a list of the card categories. Select birthdays and then go to the toolbar. Choose the animated card option. In some cases you will see a link to all the animated cards in that category.

Either way, when you get to the cards, click the preview button. Click the play button. Wait for the file to load. Click the other cards to see what they look like. When you see the one you like, enter the recipient’s email address. Click the send button.
