Note: in this example the software used is Microsoft Publisher, but
there are other programs you can try.

Step 1

Turn on your computer and open Microsoft Publisher. Select “Greeting Cards”. Choose the appropriate category from the list provided. Next, choose the card template. There are also blank cards for those who want to make the card from the ground up.

Step 2

Select the font, colors and the fold type.

Step 3

To insert your own pictures, click “Insert,” and choose “Picture,”
and “From File.” Resize the photo if necessary.

Step 4

Click “Page 3″ so you can edit the message. You can add text and pictures here too.

Step 5

When you’re done, print the card. Fold the card based on the folding option you chose. Note: half-fold cards should be folded once widthwise. If it is a quarter fold, fold in half widthwise once and lengthwise once. The order will hinge on whether it is a side or top fold card.

Step 1

Choose your photo. Alternatively you can just pick one from the website.

Step 2

Go online and look for a site that lets you print cards. A search engine will turn up several hits, so pick the one you like. Some sites will charge a fee for printing cards, but many don’t. Fill up the registration form if there is one.

Step 3

When you get to the site, click “Create my Card”, “Make a Ready to Print Card” or other similar links. Decide if you want to use your pictures or those at the site. If you want to use your picture, upload it. To use the images on the site, browse the categories.

Step 4

After inserting the image, choose the font style and color. Type the message. Don’t write a generic message; make it personal.

Step 5

Preview the finished design. Make changes if necessary. Click the “Print” link when you’re done designing the card.

Tips

Send the card with a handwritten note to make it personal. Make sure the paper you are using and the paper size you choose on the printer are the same. The paper type you print on will affect the quality of the printout. The best options are card stock and glossy paper. For the best results, set the printer to the highest setting.
