There are ready made romantic greeting cards out there, but you can make it truly special by writing the words down yourself. There is no need to sweat out the words you have to write. It is not as hard as you may think.

Draw from the Experiences You Shared

Write something down that will bring back memories (“from the moment we met at…”, “ever since I saw you three years ago…” etc). Or write a message about memorable experiences you shared during a vacation, watching a movie, in the beach, something like that.

This will do several things: it makes the card personal, something only the two of you can share. Second, it will instantly bring back memories. It will restore memories of the good times you shared.

Write from the Heart

Don’t copy phrases from well known love poems or poets. Just write from the heart and express you feel. Your card isn’t going to be entered in a poetry contest; it is for expressing how you feel about the love of your life.

Just tell the person in written words exactly how you feel. They will appreciate it, no matter what the syntax or word arrangement is like.

Design Your Own Card

If you want to make your own romantic greeting cards, it’s easy to do so. Get a nice clean paper and fold in half. Stick a picture of your loved one or the two of you on it. Get some heart shaped clipart and print them out. Glue them on the card to serve as a border. Add the romantic words in it.

If you are pressed for time and want to give the card quickly, you can always customize a ready made card. Here is how to do it.

Step 1

Get a card that contains the message similar to what you have in mind. These are available in stores and some sites on the Internet.

Step 2

Write your message down. If you want to use a quote, try to rephrase it so it appears original. The message must be something the two of you can share; it can be romantic, funny or sentimental. The point is it must be something they will identify with.

Step 3

Put a picture of the two of you together on the card. If you want to add more graphics, do it now. Turn on the computer and look for some romantic graphics. Print and cut them out. Glue them to the card along with your picture.

Step 4

Put the card in an envelope. Add some romantic designs to it, like hearts. Put it in a place they will see.
