Aside from recording your own voice, these programs will let you add text, images and often, animation and special effects too. Once you finish making the singing birthday card, you can add the email address and send it to the recipient.

You can also create various types of greeting cards on the Web. There are many free sites that let you customize or make cards from scratch. Not all of these sites will have voice recording options.

However, many of them will come with many varied and original music. Aside from the music, you are also allowed to add your own pictures. There are also many sites that have animation and options for using special effects.

Some sites go even further and let you make a short video where you can sing happy birthday. You just have to provide the site the person’s email address. The site will mail the video.

Tips

If you are making cards using computer software, use the clipart as a starting point for your own creation. It is all right to use the clipart, but it’ll be more fun if you add your style. This way the recipient will not know you used a piece of clipart.

Try to make the card and voice recording as suitable for the recipient as possible. You can make the greeting funny, boisterous, simple or record it with several friends. Always make sure the address you give is right.
